AmeriCredit Financial Services Inc. just settled a lawsuit where it was alleged the company violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). They violated TCPA by calling people on their cell phones with an automatic dialing system or automated voice message without their prior consent.
You may be eligible for compensation if you were called on your cell phone from AmeriCredit or a third party company on the behalf of AmeriCredit. These phone calls must have happened between Dec. 30, 2007 and Nov. 14, 2014, to be eligible. If you have proof of the phone calls, you can get up to $150 depending on the number of calls you received. You can file a claim without proof but you will only get $30 per cell phone number. If you would like to submit your claim, you can do so by filling out the form found here, and the deadline to submit the form is March 26, 2015.
